Lubricants

Nylube

Highest Lubricity - works under extreme friction. Anti-oxident - protects, seals and lubricates nylon, delrin, polyurethane, plastics, metals and wood. Dry wax base - won't wash off in rain, and is unusually stable when exposed to light, heat, air contaminants and oxygen. Nylube does not react with acids, aldehydes, glycols, or ethers under normal conditions and contains no silicones, graphite or moly.

Developed for high speed elevator rails, nylon guide shoes, bearings, gears, sliding surfaces, tool and die protection, escalator rails, chains and general high duty, dry, dirt-free lubrication. Reduces fire hazard.

Applications and General Characteristics

Under 150F, or at room temperature, Nylube is a wax form, easily stirred, and can be brushed or wiped onto a surface.

At 160F-200F, Nylube turns to a liquid, can be applied with a brush, or parts can be dipped in it. The temperature and length of time the parts are dipped control whenther a heavy protective coating or a very thin film is obtained.

At 200F-220F, Nylube can be used to heat treat nylon bearings, rollers and gears. This serves to relieve stress, remove moisture, seal surfaces and provide a high lubricity, long life surface with high contaminant resistance.

Rail-Lube

An excellent, low cost lubricant formulated specifically for elevator rails to protect from corrosion caused by humidity and environmental pollutants. Improves the performance of rail gibs. Similar to Nylube, but designed for moderate loads and speeds. While semi-solid at room temperatures, it turns to liquid at 145F and a channeling temperature of -20F makes it suitable for outdoor exposure.

On a traction elevator, the rail lubricant must not interfere with the function of the safeties. Under extreme pressure, the lubricity of Rail Lube breaks down. This provides a direct unlubricated contact between safeties and rails and allows the safeties to operate within the set stopping distances as required by code.

Application Methods

Proper coating is a very light film, applied evenly with a cloth, that is nearly invisible. Rail Lube should not be applied over other lubricants. Rails should be cleaned off before the first application is made.

Lubri-Cable

General Specifications

Flash Point - 350F
Fire Point - 385F
Rust & Oxidation Prevention - V.G.
Cable Absorption (Factor-weight gain on used cable) - 1.29
Traction Coefficient - .53

MSDS for Lubri-Cable

Cable-Care 65

Cable lubrication plus the advantage of "elastohydrodynamic" action, which is the increase of traction coefficient under heavy loads.

Provides core penetration along with excellent rust inhibitors.

General Specifications

Flash Point - 350F
Traction Coefficient - .65

MSDS for Cable Care 65

Nyebar Barrier Film

Applications

Worm shafts (to protect brake pulleys)

Motor Shafts (to protect armature and commutators)

Oil type Dashpots (Otis overloads - prevents oil from pumping when applied to the flat plate. Pumping causes loss of oil and is apparent when oil forms a drop on the retainer ring)

Secondary sheaves (When applied inside the housing, it will prevent oil from leaking out of the bearing and onto the floor)

General Specifications

Appearance - Colorless
Flash Point - Non-Flammable
Temperature Capability - 400F

Automatic Cable Lubricators

for Elevators, Escalator Chains, and Selector Tapes

Lubricates by electrostatic attraction - which means only minimum wick adjustment necessary after installation.
